Prince Harry and the Mushroom
--
In a recent interview with Anderson Cooper, Prince Harry admits to using Connection Supplements like Ayahuasca, psilocybin, and mushrooms to help deal with his soldier’s PTSD and the grief stemming from his mother’s paparazzi-led drive of death. As he says in his interview, “I would never recommend people to do this recreationally. But doing it with the right people if you are suffering from a huge amount of loss, grief or trauma, then these things have a way of working as a medicine. “
He’s right about that. As Indigenous and pagan peoples have recognized for centuries, these are powerful healing substances. No argument there. What’s interesting, however, is how certain sections of the corporate media, particularly the Daily Mail, are attempting to spin this use.
In one article, Mansur Shaheed, invoking the sacred authority of the “expert” to try and scare you away from psychedelics, suggests “Prince Harry’s blistering attack on the Royal Family may have been fueled by powerful psychedelic ‘trips’” that left him with “warped perspective” and “vulnerable to manipulation” by others.
Certainly, Mr. Shaheed is also right about that. We personally would bet money that H’s use of psychedelics did change his perspective and did make him more open to the influence of scary “others,” like his wife Meghan. That’s what psychedelics do. They raise your awareness; they enhance your thinking; they improve your emotional health; they make you more open to ideas; they give you purpose; they help you see the truth. That’s exactly what happened to Harry. As you’ll know if you watch the recent Netflix documentary “Harry and Meghan,” it absolutely changed his perspective on his family. It, along with his wife Meghan, no doubt, helped him see the truth about the racist, imperialist, toxic family that he was, unfortunately, born into. But that’s not a bad thing because, as is clear from the documentary, he, his partner, and his kids, are much better off now that they have seen the truth for themselves and moved their family far, far away.
Still, it is something to keep in mind. Psychedelics, what we call Connection Supplements are powerful medicines that will change the way you see things. They will raise your awareness. They will open your mind. They will help you see the truth of things. They will show you what’s important. More to the point, they will give you the courage and the power to engage and make the change so necessary to your health and well-being, a change which will often lead to a fundamental revision of your relationships with family, friends, work, and the world. But given the health, happiness, and positive outcomes that can ensue when you break free of racism, hatred, trauma and abuse, that ain’t a bad thing at all.
